According to Chinese symbolism, the display of an eagle denotes confidence and growth in business, as well as a quality of leadership.  A grouping of nine eagles is considered an ideal charm for ambitious people.

In this installation for the Harvard Business School, I have grouped nine eagles on two facing  walls, using three variations of carved and cast, bas-relief ceramic eagles.  The glazed patterns feature antique maps of locations around the world, and stylized peonies - sometimes called the flower of wealth and honor.
